Overview

Background

In the evolving healthcare sector, Remedial Health, a pioneering pharmaceutical tech startup, emerges as a transformative force. Specializing in streamlining procurement and pharmacy operations, their mission is clear: "Procurement & Pharmacy Operations Made Easy For Healthcare Providers."

This venture aims to transform how healthcare providers acquire pharmaceutical supplies. It offers a centralized platform not only consolidating procurement needs but also providing flexible financing options. The core vision is to facilitate seamless access to the African pharmaceutical market, enhancing the availability and accessibility of essential medical supplies.

Understanding the Problem

Counterfeit drugs in Africa contribute to over 30% of medicines being fake, leading to an estimated 100,000 annual deaths, as per the WHO.

Genuine medicines are often unaffordable, further complicating the healthcare landscape.

The challenges extend to disrupting the overall delivery of health services, raising a pressing question: How can we address these intertwined issues effectively?

Solution

Our solution is a mobile and web app designed to digitize pharmaceutical supply chains in Africa. The team looked to leverage innovative procurement, financing, and operations solutions to enhance access to genuine and affordable medicines.

In my role as the lead designer, I guided the design process for the mobile and web app. Working closely with stakeholders and the project manager, I handled research, ideation, prototype development, and usability testing to ensure the app's effectiveness and user-friendly experience.

Research & Ideation

We conducted more than five virtual interviews with pharmaceutical suppliers, retailers, and healthcare providers, obtaining valuable insights and information on pharmaceutical practices and industry challenges. This process was instrumental in defining the core problem for our UX case study

Introducing a groundbreaking Digital App for Pharmaceutical Supply in Africa! Simplify your purchases with financing options, offering manufacturers easy access to the African market.

We ideated features to help the users customize their home page based on their preference. This feature includes a filter based on Deals, Items back in stock, Popular items by other users and New items.

SEAMLESS BUSINESS

Wallet

This feature was designed to create a unique wallet feature for each user. This wallet contains 2 virtual account numbers where they can send and receive funds.

This feature helps pharmacies have a concentrated medium for business transactions right inside the app.

More ways to Find Items

In addition to quickly finding items using the search bar, we have incorporated the widely used e-commerce category pattern for enhanced item search and discovery. This feature allows users to browse through different categories and subcategories, making it easier to find specific items based on their preferences.
